When Halloween Costumes Cause Problems... After Halloween

Halloween is here and some may choose questionable costume ideas. What happens to their costumes and accessories after Halloween? Well sometimes they end up getting donated - fully intact - cause some serious problems.
A number of years ago we encountered what turned out to be a Halloween costume accessory that looked a bit too real. It was not the only time it happened either, but the first time always sticks in one's memory. The item pictured here tumbled out of a donation bin in a sorting area to give that employee quite a scare.

The resulting events were necessary to be safe, but it would have been helpful if the person created it had dismantled it before foisting it onto someone else.

Here is what happened. That's right! It looked dangerous enough local law enforcement brought out the robot. Hours of disruption to operations. Hours of lost productivity, and worse yet, fearful employees for some time to come.
